Joy Orbison - Joyous Orbit Sounds

its 7:49, and J.O. is NOT pleased with dis bitch in his bathroom.

Okay, i don't know where that post title came from. Mostly me being tired and attempting to be clever. Anyway, we have talked about this Joy Orbison guy before, but not enough. True name: Peter O'Grady. He apparently started DJing at 13, and started building tracks with Fruity Loops. Now what he produces is 'a mixture of dubstep, jungle, funky, garage, and house.' To me, this is tech-y house with epic bass, minimalistic but catchy loops, and very infectious beats. That said, there are clear influences from dubstep, funky and even beat music. I want to call it Bass House (but when will we actually need another genre?). Listen to these songs – you will be dancing before you even know why. Just be sure to bust out the good speakers because that low end... seriously, its low. All these tracks are SEX.

Stray Light (Bastille Remix) - Night Eyes - Free Download by Bastille

Oh yes. The Electro House Pirate Barons of Apes With Barrels, also known as Bastille, have made what I deem to be their best track to date. The intro is pretty simple, but the buildups are freaking cool and the DROPS (both of them)...my god, the drops. They masterfully combine the detuned high synth blips of their beloved Techno and Tech House with a dirty, dubstep-worthy bassline and a smashing Electro House beat. Really detailed, hard-hitting, and a fucking jam.

Hello (Trumpdisco Remix) - AC Slater

Although Trumpdisco themselves deny that this is dubstep, this is awesome dubstep. The original is good too, but this just kicks asssssssssssssssssssssssssss. If you downloaded the minimix i made for Langosta, then you would have heard this.

Blue Skies (Flux Pavilion) - Jamiroquai

This is Flux Pavilion. He makes amazing dubstep. He uses crazy arpeggiated synths and heavy bass. This is what dubstep should be. If i can hear something like this played on speakers the size of my body, i can die happy.

Animale (Datsik Remix) - Don Diablo Ft. Dragonette

This is perhaps the best track of this entire post. Datsik kills it almost every time, and I love Dragonette's voice.. (she was on a Martin Solveig track that i posted here as part of my mix). This is just so well crafted. God i love...

Mykonos (Barbaric Merits Remix) - Fleet Foxes

Yes, fleet foxes dubstep. No, its not bad, either.

Further proof that Fidget House isn't dead. Awesome. The bass might be mixed a bit too heavy, but still. you can't not dance to this.

Awesome Tech house... excessively catchy bassline and about as indie a dude as it gets (he's living in berlin to work on music and a moustache.. and quotes thoreau).
